JOB DESCRIPTION: Plans, organizes, directs, and manages the day to day administrative activities related to the provision of radiology services. Develops and administers policies, procedures, and budgets. Orients and trains personnel, distributes and supervises work assignments, and ensures an efficient and effective workflow. Regularly meets with and communicates operational changes to staff to ensure they are aware of information that may affect their work. Seeks input and recommendations from staff on ways to improve operations. Participates in developing departmental goals and objectives. Analyzes departmental strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and constraints. Meets with other staff members to discuss progress and to develop future courses of action. Supervises staff and manages employee performance. Provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies and documents competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills. Projects staffing needs, interviews and hires employees to fill positions. Determines disciplinary, termination and salary actions. Monitors workflow. Identifies, recommends, implements, and evaluates the provision of new procedures or services. Establishes, revises, administers and communicates policies, procedures and related forms in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines. Communicates and monitors compliance with regulatory, licensing and accreditation standards. Determines the impact of changes on departmental/section services or programs. Oversees and coordinates quality assurance activities; establishes quality measures and standards, monitors departmental performance in relation to established standards, and takes corrective action to prevent or reduce problems or errors or to improve procedures. Resolves unexpected technical problems that occur in the area.Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Five years of experience in hospital radiology services, including two years of supervisory experience OR a bachelor's degree with three years business experience. BLS certification required.
