JOB DESCRIPTION: The Employee Health RN III strives to promote safety and protection of patients and employees through effective assessment and surveillance of Emory Healthcare (EHC) employees. The RN supports the Employee Health Services by conducting employee health screenings for new and annual employees, volunteers and contractors who are performing work for EHC, and promoting a safe work environment while adhering to applicable EHC policies and procedures and supporting the hospital's Vision Alignment Matrix. Maintains courteous and professional behavior at all times. Functions under the direction of the Employee Health Director providing occupational health screenings for new and annual employees, immunizations, tracking, monitoring follow-up of occupational exposures and providing employee education and wellness information. Demonstrates awareness of and adherence to legal requirements and other pertinent standards related to Occupational Health. The Employee Health Nurse shall maintain the privacy of the employee and confidentiality of the medical record. Responsible for immunizations as per EHC Employee Health Services standing orders and recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Assists with planning, implementation, evaluation of annual influenza vaccine program. Provide supervision and assign duties as indicated for nursing, administrative staff and or volunteers working in the Employee Health Office. Will maintain statistics of Employee Health duties as indicated by tasks performed for employees. May require travel to work at other sites when needed. Maintain Infection Control Standards for blood and body fluid exposure.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires current Georgia Registered Nurse licensure, BSN preferred. Current Basic Life Support Certification. Certification in Occupational Health preferred. Three (3) years experience in the nursing field, preferably in Occupational Health. Knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws, OSHA standards pertaining to Employee Health is required. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia and current Basic Life Support Certification. Recommended to have COHN certification or at a minimum working towards certification. Current clinical knowledge of state and federal regulations on health issues, occupational hazards and safety issues.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
