Description

We're seeking a Surgical Tech Service Line Coordinator who will coordinate the services and program, participate in growth by improving efficiencies, standards, and performance of the service line. This position is responsible for assisting with planning, implementing, and coordinating services and activities associated with the service line. The service line coordinator:

  • Acts as a clinical liaison and assists with overseeing the technical and clinical aspects of the specified service line.
  • Will participate in training and mentoring of new staff members, enhancing staff skills and knowledgebase.
  • Assists in identifying staff education needs based on clinical situations and recommends appropriate in-service.
  • Will work with surgeons, nurses, first assistants and scrub techs to streamline and standardize the service line to improve efficiency and quality of care.
  • Will be required to maintain surgical tech skills and assist with surgical procedures on a routine basis, assist with troubleshooting, movement, setup and breakdown.
  • Ensure supplies to support the program are available and in good working order.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory/par levels and assist in keeping preference cards up-to-date. 
  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively, be self-directed and comfortable with managing multiple responsibilities of the program, including clinical, administrative, educational, and promotional components.
  • Ability to complete other duties as necessary to support the operating room, including, but not limited to, scrubbing and other support for other service lines as needed.
  • On-call may be required; variable per operating unit and staffing.

Minimum Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program OR equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to function as a clinical expert in the specified service line.

Minimum Experience:

  • 2 years' surgical tech experience.
  • 1-2 years experience within specific service line preferred.
