Department: Workplace Violence Prevention (WVP) Team

Weekly Hours: 12-20 hours

Reports To: Director, Workplace Violence Prevention Program

Position Summary:

The Administrative Intern will support strategic initiatives of the Workplace Violence Prevention (WVP) Team, including de-escalation training, data analysis, and policy review. This role offers hands-on experience in healthcare operations, safety strategy, and organizational development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis - Analyze data streams to identify workplace violence trends and develop summary tables.
  • Coordinate AVADE de-escalation training logistics (room booking, HLC offerings, supply management).
  • Identify gaps and misalignments in existing policies and procedures; support revision process in collaboration with WVP Team.
  • Assist in creating and implementing WVP resources for leaders and front-line staff.

Learning Opportunities:

  • Gain exposure to a system-wide program focused on safety and security of all employees, patients and visitors.
  • Participate in de-escalation and WVP training sessions.
  • Contribute to the development of violence risk screening tools and safety protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Interest in workplace safety, healthcare operations, and policy development.
