JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Radiologic Technologist, including but not limited to: cleaning the patients room, operating various equipment, helping with emergencies and assisting with patient flow. Prepares room to receive patient; sets up necessary equipment and ensures neatness and cleanliness of room. May assist with preparing patients for procedures. Supports cost efficient/effective delivery of care. Participates in department based and hospital-wide Continuous Quality Improvement. Responds immediately to emergency patient situations; initiates emergency life-saving techniques such as CPR using high quality resuscitation Basic Life Support. Required to complete MRI Safety training, follow safety measures when transporting patients to and from MRI, and have knowledge of proper use of MRI compatible equipment. Maintains confidentiality of patient records and information. Must complete additional training upon hiring as related to appropriate PPE use, patient moving techniques, patient equipment care training for telemetry boxes, IV pumps, oxygen tanks and more. Performs related responsibilities as required. Gives and/or receives information regarding patient schedule when appropriate. Assist the clinical team to transfer patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, beds and diagnostic equipment with minimal disruption to patient. Assists ambulatory and wheelchair patients to and from diagnostic imaging equipment. Escorts or directs patients to rooms or departments within the facility. May assist with patient transportation via wheelchair, stretcher or bed. Must be able to multitask and manage numerous patient requests at once and prioritize requests based on patient need. Provide excellent customer service to the patients and clinical teams they support while communicating to patients and family members the general overview and process the imaging appointment. Works regularly with patients, providers, imaging services technologists and nurses; the position is a critical component to ensuring patients have a positive experience with Emory Healthcare. Prepares rooms for patient visits; sets up necessary equipment and ensures neatness and cleanliness of room. Maintains stocks of supplies, drugs, linens as needed before, during and after patient visits. May assist with supply inventory including receiving, maintaining par levels, stocking shelves, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred. Some college preferred. BLS certification required upon hiring.
