8a-4:30p / Full Time / 40 Hours
This is an Entry level Registered Dietitian position. If an employee does not currently have registration and/or licensure, must obtain registration and/or license within 2 months of hire date.
The Clinical Dietitian I provides Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients in an inpatient and outpatient hospital setting. Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) includes assessment, nutrition diagnosis, and intervention to manage patient care. Consults with physicians and health care personnel to develop a nutrition plan using the Nutrition Care Process for optimum outcome. Documents care process in the medical record. Initial assessment, consultation and follow up are completed, per policy. Is an MNT resource professional for other personnel or community. Utilizes effective time management in organizing workload, prioritizing and accomplishing tasks. Identifies problems, collects data, and takes corrective action for new and/or assigned quality improvement, and/or process improvement projects. May precept the activities of Emory Dietetic Interns under the supervision of a mentor dietitian Level II or higher. May participate in presentations to local organizations, civic groups, corporations and the media on nutrition related topics.
