7am - 7:30pm/ PRN Float/ 36 Hours/Candidate works every other weekend and rotating holidays 

 

  

We're seeking a PRN Float Sitter for Emory Decatur Hospital responsible for being a capable certified technician who cares about the quality of their work an ensuring the safety for all patients. 

This individual will:    

 

 

  • The purpose of an operating unit/facility-based position is to provide clinical resources in a variety of patient care departments throughout an Emory Healthcare (EHC) operating unit/facility.
  •   Key Responsibility Category: Is assigned to a patient in the hospital setting to maintain a safe environment.
  • Observes and reports any changes in the patients condition to the nurse accountable for the patients nursing care.
  • Communicates with patient/family members and all members of the health team to relay appropriate information as part of patient care. As part of a patient focused service, promotes a supportive and healing environment so that customer and staff satisfaction are enhanced. Under the supervision of the patient's nurse, may assist with transportation of the patient throughout the hospital, ambulation of the patient, bedpan/bathroom functions, bathing, bed making, feeding, providing oral fluids to patient and positions for comfort. Ensures the neatness and cleanliness of patients room.
  • Supports cost efficient/effective patient care. Complies with Universal Precaution guidelines and all other infection control procedures and safety standards to maintain and promote a clean and healthy work environment.
  • May discard disposable supplies, assist with bedrails wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and bedpans, under the supervision of the patient's nurse. Performs related responsibilities as required. Floats to patient care areas as assigned. Performs other related responsibilities as required.  

    Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  •   Basic computer skills
  •   Minimum Experience: A minimum of one year patient care experience preferred.
  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
