Description

SHIFT: 8 AM-4:30 PM / 40 HOURS / FULL-TIME

LOCATION: NORTHLAKE 

  • Functions as system wide (multiple hospital and outpatient locations) coordinator of CT lung screening services.
  • Serves as an agent of the patient and engages with other care practitioners to provide the full scope - intake, exam, results, and follow up - of patient care.
  • Analyzes information, monitors patients, and takes action to facilitate their wellness and healing.
  • Ensures personnel and equipment standards meet regulatory compliance.
  • Delegates appropriately and supervises assistive personnel.
  • Develops and distributes educational materials.
  • Maintains continuous (M-F) phone and web accessibility for patients, families, and physicians.
  • Assists patients and their families to gain timely access to applicable EHC CT lung screening facilities.
  • Provides alternatives if CT lung screening is deemed inappropriate (i.e., age or clinical criteria).
  • Partners with scheduling and referrers on easing any access barriers.
  • Assists with adding CT lung screening sites in relation to Emory's strategic expansion and patient needs.
  • Report results to those screened and their primary care/specialty practice doctors and transmit requested copies in a timely manner.
  • Makes use of the LungView database system to track findings and manage continuum of care.
  • Work with a lung cancer multidisciplinary clinical team to carry out a coordinated process for screening, follow up and treatment when appropriate. Initiates and maintains strong relations and communications with other technologists and navigators throughout EHC.
  • Comply with standards based on best published practices for controlling screening quality, radiation dose and diagnostic procedures.
  • Have received or intend to receive designation as a lung cancer screening program through the American College of Radiology.
  • Assists with ensuring technologist expertise.
  • Undertakes process improvement activities when and where necessary.
  • Works with Patient Financial Services, physician offices, and patients to ensure CMS, private insurance, and self-pay requirements are met.
  • Ensures patients are not unfairly burdened with costs. Educates patients, families, and staff.
  • Provide clear information on the risks and benefits of CT screening through a shared decision-making process.
  • Include a comprehensive cessation program for those still smoking or refer to comprehensive cessation programs. Promotes regional and community awareness of CT lung screening services.
  • Functions as the initial contact point in the CT lung screening process and sets the overall tone for the patient and family experience.
  • Provides patient and family feedback to others throughout EHC.
  • Models and promotes EHC service standards.
  • Assists with ensuring optimal outcomes for patients and families.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Has extensive knowledge of CT physics and CT equipment.
  • Holds an ARRT certification in CT, ARRT (CT) and/or RN requierd.
  • Four years as a CT technologist and one year in a supervisory role.
  • Prior work in a cross-disciplinary setting preferred.
