Description

This role coordinates daily activities of the Clinic Lab Support Services Coordinator staff responsible for registration, collection, labeling and/or processing of patient specimens for testing.

 

SHIFT: 8a-4:30p Will split time supporting Lenora Church and Oak Road locations.

  • Monitors operation and productivity, prepares work schedules, trains new staff, oversees computer functions, and prepares monthly quality/safety reports.
  • Provides supervision and instruction to staff; documents performance issues and takes immediate corrective action as appropriate; makes recommendations to supervisor concerning staff performance evaluations and disciplinary issues which may require formal action.
  • Clearly demonstrates flexibility and creativity needed to adjust plans and capture new opportunities.
  • Participates and documents quality improvement activities as it relates to registration procedures, wait times, phlebotomy, processing and the transportation of specimens. Compares data from different sources to draw conclusions using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate timely solutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Some college preferred.
  • Four yrs phlebotomy processing preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
