7am - 7:30pm/ Full Time/ 36 Hours 

  

We’re seeking a Unit Charge Nurse for our Medical-Surgical Department on Unit 3200, a 38-bed unit dedicated to delivering compassionate, comprehensive care to patients with complex medical needs. Our patient population includes individuals with gastrointestinal disorders, chronic renal disease, infectious diseases, gerontology-related conditions, ischemic stroke, diabetes mellitus, sepsis, and heart failure. We take pride in fostering a collaborative, team-based approach to care, focused on optimizing patient outcomes and promoting self-efficacy post-discharge.

 

This experienced RN professional will serve as both a clinical expert and a leader, guiding the operations of a specific shift and ensuring the delivery of patient- and family-centered care. With a strong foundation in evidence-based practice, the ideal candidate will apply the Synergy Model for Care to support patients and families, while also mentoring colleagues and promoting a high-functioning team environment. This individual will: 

  • Plan, coordinate, and direct the daily operations of a specific shift on a clinical unit.

  • Supervise staff and facilitate communication with physicians and internal administrators to provide optimal patient- and family-centered care.

  • Be recognized as a change agent and routinely lead efforts to strengthen organizational systems that support the department's mission, vision, and values.

  • Demonstrate expertise in creative problem-solving, conflict negotiation, and team collaboration.

  • Exhibit insight, sound judgment, and clinically appropriate risk-taking, while role modeling expert communication skills to colleagues.

  • Anticipate and assess the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes based on intuition and experience.

  • Be recognized as an expert clinician and leader within the area of specialty.

  • Complete employee conferences, risk management reports, and unit management documentation within specified timeframes.

  • Identify the need for revisions to operational forms and evaluate their effectiveness.

  • Provide and coordinate the necessary resources within the unit to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Experience: 2 years of recent nursing experience AND a minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of concentration.
  • Licensure: A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  • Certification: BLS certification
  • ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire
  • Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty PL N:
  • Must meet all Clinical Nurse Employee Commitments.
  • Achieves electives/points and contact hours as defined in the PLAN (clinical lattice) point system to maintain position.
  • Must complete UCN/SNM criteria requirements within nine (9) months of promotion or hire, including completion of Enhancing your Communication HLC#6488, completion of formal preceptor training workshop and enrollment in LEAP course.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Education: MSN or DNP
