Description

Under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist Leader, the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor will coordinate daily pharmacy technician and intern workflow in their respective shift or specialty area.

  • Primarily responsible for the training, monitoring, and troubleshooting of automatic systems and equipment, devices, and IV workflow solutions.
  • Supports and monitors routine environmental monitoring, cleaning, disinfection, decontamination activities and documentation, and ensures routine quality assurance inspections, including the examination of product integrity and expiration.
  • Appropriately reports safety concerns and/or forwards opportunities to appropriate pharmacy personnel.
  • Manages and oversees all site-specific orientation and training of new pharmacy technicians through the procurement, preparation, packaging, distribution, and disposal of medications and pharmaceutical supplies.
  • The Supervisor, Pharmacy Technician oversees technician accountability for quality assurance processes to maintain pharmacy operations for their shift, in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
  • The Supervisor, Pharmacy Technician will assume human resource responsibilities, including but not limited to managing employee scheduling, coaching, feedback and performance appraisals in compliance with departmental standards.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Successful completion of an ASHP accredited technician training program preferred.
  • At least five years experience or three years of related pharmacy experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). Some supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current CPhT certification through either PTCB or NHA and active Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration.
  • Must maintain certification and registration through entire length of employment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate within the first year full competency in at least 3 primary scheduled areas with a general understanding of all competencies and processes related to that site of work.
