Part time: 8a-4:30p
Under general supervision of the Dentist, the Dental Hygienist will be responsible to perform licensed procedures in providing oral prophylaxis for dental patients who are primarily geriatric patients of the Dental Center. Duties include making of applicable radiographs, assisting in patient examination, application of topical fluorides, patient education in preventive dentistry. Operates radiographic equipment and other dental equipment to provide x-rays and clean teeth. Maintains equipment in working condition and notifies dentist of equipment malfunctions or service requirements. Examines and assists with examination of patients. Educates patients on dental and oral hygiene and preventive dentistry. Applies topical fluorides and/or local anesthetics. Makes radiographs as directed. Cleans teeth with appropriate tools and materials. Assists dentist and other staff as appropriate.
