Description

The Interventional Vascular Specialist II precepts new staff and students. They should have intermediate knowledge of x-ray equipment and troubleshooting.

 

DAY SHIFT: 7 AM-5:30 PM / 40 HOURS / FULL-TIME

LOCATION: EMORY SAINT JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL

 

Job Duties:

  • Assists in more advanced procedures such as pulmonary thrombectomy, AAA, TEVAR, FEVAR.
  • Able to assist with complex procedures; including multiple wire exchanges and able to use long wires and OTW balloons.
  • Should be able to use specialty devices such as laser, penumbra, Inari and shockwave.
  • Circulates, monitors and scrubs all Interventional Vascular procedures.
  • Troubleshoots imaging equipment collaborating with biomedical engineers for service.
  • Participate in procedural charging. Maintains supply management.
  • Able to act quickly under emergency situations.
  • Able to discuss with physician plan of action and assist with any high-risk procedures.
  • Cross-trains as needed to support departmental needs.
  • Understands and works with x-ray system, including panning table and recognizing different angles.
  • Manages access site including proper removal of sheath, assessment of hematoma and knowledge of hematoma management.
  • Understands concepts of radiation safety. - Knowledgeable in vascular anatomy and recognizing different types of lesions.
  • Basic knowledge of supply features and applications to procedure.
  • Knowledge and adherence to sterile technique.
  • Able to communicate effectively with team, patients, families and medical staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Education: Graduate of accredited school of radiologic OR cardiovascular technology.

2. Experience: 1 year experience as an Interventional Vascular Specialist, Interventional Radiology Technologist, or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist.

3. Certifications/Licensure: Registered as an ARRT-R (with VI or CV credential) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) is required.
