Description

The Primary Therapist will provide services in the child/adolescent OCD IOP (intensive outpatient program) program.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed Masters-level degree program in Counseling, Social Work, or the equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience providing counseling in a mental health treatment environment.
  • Independent clinical licensure (LPC, LCSW, etc.) with certification to provide care in Georgia.
  • Experience using exposure and response prevention (ERP) and working with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).
  • Experience working with adolescents and with acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is highly preferred.

 

  • Provides high quality patient care, displaying good skills in psychiatric counseling.
  • Provides diagnostic evaluations and interprets complex psychosocial factors for a variety of psychiatric and addiction patients.
  • Assesses the particular needs of psychiatric and addiction patients and their families when appropriate to the patient's treatment.
  • Assesses conflicts and problems leading to complaints and symptoms that bring individuals to inpatient/outpatient psychiatric/addiction treatment.
  • Provides emergency assessment of potential patients in need of inpatient hospitalization or other appropriate alternatives.

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field and LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMHC, LPC, or LAPC.
  • Completion of an comprehensive internship in a psychiatric setting.
  • NCC (National Certified Counselor Certification) is required for candidates who are within 90 days of receiving licensure.
  • Licensure must be received within 90 days of employment.
  • BLS certification required.
