7am - 7:30pm / Full-Time / Weekend-Only 

 

We're seeking a Bed Planning Coordinator Registered Nurse responsible for providing 24/7 coverage for the Capacity Command Center and ensuring optimal patient flow and bed utilization across the health system. This RN professional has acquired broad experience in patient care coordination and developed a strong understanding of hospital operations, bed management, and capacity planning. They use their clinical expertise, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to manage patient placement efficiently and ensure smooth transitions across units. This individual will:

 

  • Provide 24/7 coverage for the Capacity Command Center, ensuring continuous patient flow management.
  • Coordinate patient bed reservations and room assignments across all EHC operating units to optimize utilization.
  • Collaborate with Transfer Services RN Coordinator and Patient Flow Coordinator to manage incoming transfers.
  • Use protocols and clinical training to prioritize patient placement under normal and surge capacity conditions.
  • Manage patient assignments via the electronic patient flow application, ensuring accurate and efficient bed allocation.
  • Validate OR schedules, reviews medical charts, and utilizes clinical knowledge to direct proper patient placement.
  • Communicate patient placement needs to stakeholders through verbal and written updates.
  • Conduct regular data reviews, including census validation, bed request tracking, and capacity data integrity checks.
  • Support research initiatives, collects and analyzes data, and generates reports to enhance patient flow efficiency.
  • Mentor and trains new team members, adapting training methods to different learning styles.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in nursing required. Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • Experience: Three years of recent (within the past five years) critical care nursing experience that includes supervision and patient bed placement.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Provider and ACLS certifications required.
