Emory Healthcare seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to serve as APP Chief of Internal Medicine. This leadership position will oversee and support APPs across multiple Internal Medicine sub-specialties, including Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Nephrology, and Pulmonology.

 

The role will be a combination of leadership and clinical work, offering a unique opportunity to lead our Internal Medicine APP's while maintaining clinical expertise.   Anticipate that the split will be approximately 50% leadership and 50% clinical.  

 

Ideal candidate will have 7+ years clinical experience as an Internal Medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner and 5+ years of leadership experience.

Description

Job Description:

  • Provides oversight and leadership for a service line
  • Reports to and works with VP and Chief Advanced Practice Officer in developing and executing a strategic plan for Emory Healthcare APPs
  • Assists in the preparation and effective managing of annual operating, capital budgets, APP productivity and key performance indicators for the service line
  • Collaborates with physician and administrative teams to determine APP practice needs and strategic growth planning in service lines
  • Collaborates with clinical and operational leadership to develop and execute overall strategy and infrastructure
  • Optimize APP practice in accordance with state of Georgia and Emory regulations and policies
  • Promote APP employment engagement and retention
  • Work with service line leads in hiring, on-boarding and any needed remediation
  • Perform mid-year and annual performance review and competency assessment of leads (including obtaining feedback from team members to complete evaluations and meeting face to face with APPS) with mentorship for lead professional growth and succession planning
  • Engage in monthly lead (group and individual meetings)
  • Round on all locations on a regular cadence
  • Participate in leadership development programs, required meetings and annual retreats
  • Other duties as assigned 


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Certified Nurse Midwife, or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, or Certified Anesthesiology Assistant program
  • Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), or as a Certified Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB), or as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetist (NBCRNA), or as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA)
  • 5 plus years of leadership experience
  • Masters degree or higher
  • BLS ACLS may be required in some areas
