The Director of Workplace Violence Prevention is a system leadership role responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and oversight of a comprehensive Workplace Violence Prevention Program across Emory Healthcare. This role ensures a safe and secure environment for all patients, staff, and visitors by designing evidence-based policies, conducting training programs, and fostering a culture of safety and respect.
Reporting to the VP of Employment Practices, the Director collaborates across departments to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, Behavioral Health, or a related field is required. Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is strongly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience preferably in a healthcare setting.
Demonstrated expertise in policy development, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance. Experience in leading training programs and managing multidisciplinary teams. Strong knowledge of workplace violence prevention frameworks, including OSHA guidelines and the Joint Commission standards. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in using data to inform decision-making and program evaluation. Crisis management skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
Certified Threat Manager (CTM), Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA), or similar certifications are preferred. De-escalation or crisis intervention certifications (e.g., CPI, MOAB) are highly desirable.
Work Environment:
Hybrid work arrangement with a requirement for on-site presence at Emory Healthcare facilities as needed. Will require travel to different system locations. Requires availability to respond to workplace violence incidents during and outside regular business hours.
