Emory Healthcare has an opportunity for an experienced OB/GYN Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team in our Decatur location.

 

This role will be 90% clinical and 10% administrative coordinating and overseeing the Fellowship program. The role will be responsible for developing an educational curriculum, programming, and accreditation criteria for individuals in OB/GYN APP Fellowship program.  

 

Ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience as an NP or PA, as well as 2+ years experience of educational leadership experience to mentor Fellows. Will also need to have experience in project management with scoping and deadlines.

Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the evaluation and treatment of women's health patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical records.  
  • Conducts patient interviews and documents patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status and medical problems or potential problems.
  • Under the direction of a physician, performs physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures including cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes.
  • Assists physician in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment.
  • Coordinate and participate in the leadership of the APP OB/GYN Fellowship program.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years clinical experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years educational leadership experience and/or membership on education committees and teams.
  • Licensure: Current Georgia licensure as a Physician Assistant/Associate or Advanced Practiced Registered Nurse.
  • Certifications: Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • BLS required, as well as ACLS may be required in some areas.
