Under the direction of the Director of the Dietetic Internship, the Dietetic Internship Coordinator manages all activities associated with the day to day operation of the dietetic internship, a program accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). In addition, the position delivers nutrition care to a subset of patients consistent with the expectations of a clinical dietitian II or above. Internship responsibilities may include participating in the annual intern selection process; working with the other Atlanta internship programs to plan and schedule joint classes; managing the internship rotation schedule; reviewing intern assignments; providing guidance and direction to preceptors; ensuring required competencies are met by each intern; reviewing rotation evaluations; coordinating the revision of modules and experiences to continually improve the quality of the program; coaching and counseling interns; coordinating an annual open house and graduation ceremony; and facilitating the implementation of contractual agreements to support intern experiences at external sites. Internship responsibilities encompass 50% of the incumbent's time
MIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Master's degree in Nutrition, Food Service or a related area preferred. Completion of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) approved dietetic internship program. Minimum of three years of experience in a clinical setting; one year of experience precepting dietetic interns in a clinical setting.
