Description

This position is full time, 10:45a - 11:15p and is eligible for shift differentials. 

 

We’re looking for experienced operating room (OR) Surgical Technologist with experience in complex surgeries i.e., neuro procedures (aneurysm, craniotomies), Head & Neck, Skull based, Reconstructive surgeries involving free "Tram" flap, Colorectal and Robotics. Our Technologist are integral members of inter-professional teams in hospitals and clinics that are committed to outstanding patient care, driven by their expertise, compassion and operate at a higher level of practice.

  • Implements and evaluates care of patients undergoing diagnostic and invasive surgical procedures.
  • Keeps the Perioperative team abreast of the procedure needs and progress. 
  • Identifies more complex patient needs by reviewing procedure protocol, physician's request, and assessing the patient's physical needs.
  • Prioritizes procedure process and supplies for specialty group of patients. 
  • Plans for surgical procedure based on identified needs of surgeon and patient, implementing intervention for identified patient problems as related to surgical procedure and patient needs.
  • Utilizes appropriate standards of care, and/or collaborative clinical pathways to guide the plan of care.
  • Determine the equipment, materials, and resources needed to meet the patient procedure plan.
  • Participates in identifying cost containment activities. Monitors and maintains supplies and initiates purchases to ensure par levels.
  • Successfully completes hospital and department-based orientation programs, attending educational programs to develop optimal knowledge in area of specialty.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent job training. Certification in Surgical Technology preferred.
  • Two years multispecialty experience. Must be able to function as a clinical expert in at least one service line and have the ability to float to other service lines, as needed.
  • Specialty areas include: Colorectal, Complex GYN, Complex Neuro, ENT, General Surgery, Oncology Ophthalmology (Corneal; Retina Cell transplants), Procedures (aneurysm, craniotomy), Reconstructive Surgery (e.g. TRAM Flaps), Robotics, Surgical Oncology (Head & Neck, Skull based, HIPEC), Thoracic and Vascular.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
