TITLE: Environmental Services Tech III
DUTIES: Performs duties involved with cleaning patient and non-patient areas by utilizing appropriate cleaning aids. Pays close attention to cleaning detail. Cleans, polishes furniture/fixtures in assigned areas and arranges furniture and/or equipment as directed. Cleans floors with vacuums, dust mops, and/or wet mops. Collects and removes trash and recyclable items and deposits to designated area. May be required to dispose of biochemical waste in accordance with policy and procedures. Operates light power equipment and performs preventive maintenance on equipment; e.g., ensures vacuum cleaner bags are emptied regularly. Maintains adequate stock of supplies in bathrooms and storage areas. Tells supervisor when time to restock and re-order supplies. Greets and acknowledges patients, families, and coworkers to ensure a positive environment. Performs work in a safe manner by practicing all infection control procedures, being aware of safety hazards and acting on hazards accordingly. Follows prescribed cleaning techniques and uses cleaning solutions appropriately. Maintains security and confidentiality of areas by locking/unlocking doors and performing related functions. Assigned to clean and disinfect surgical, procedural, and specialized areas such as Sterile Processing. Cleans and maintains various floor surfaces. This includes carpet, wood, marble, vinyl, vct, stone, tile, slate etc. Performs floor care using equipment such as ride-on, walk- behind, and manual operated machines for scrubbing, buffing, and polishing of floors. Apply wax and other floor care products under the guidance of EVS Leadership. Responsible for transporting waste to central waste depository and packaging biohazardous and biochemical waste to OSHA and DOT standards. May assist with daily operations to include use of UV Light. Expert in cleaning duties and sanitation requirements, appropriate cleaning aides, and departmental policies and procedures. Conducts orientation and training of new staff. Participates and conducts cleaning inspections. Assist or lead departmental projects as needed. May assume charge role in the absence of the Lead or Supervisor. Exhibits ability to utilize bed management systems and other computer applications used by department.
SALARY: $37,502.40 per year

REQUIREMENTS: Experience in the following:
• Extensive environmental services, custodial, or construction experience.
• Use of power tools for repair and assembly of equipment.
• Heavy moving of equipment.
