Description

8:30a – 5:00p / Full Time / 40 Hours 

Under the direct supervision of the VP, Acute Care Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacy Technician Program Manager, will develop and maintain the on-boarding, training and competency programs for technicians across the healthcare system. Primarily responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the orientation and training resources for pharmacy technicians.

The Program Manager is responsible for continuously reviewing and evaluating the program’s effectiveness and oversight of the pharmacy technician ladder program. This individual will coordinate ongoing educational opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge of pharmacy technicians; work collaboratively with Pharmacy Technician Supervisors and Pharmacy Managers, while serving as a mentor to the technician supervisors. Additionally, expected to collaborate well with intradepartmental and interdepartmental leadership to achieve strategic initiatives and improve patient safety and care; regularly make site visits to observe and offer support; attend relevant educational opportunities related to current role and pharmacy technician workforce topics.


Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree. Successful completion of an ASHP accredited technician training program preferred.
  • At least five years pharmacy experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Current CPhT certification through either PTCB or NHA.
  • Active Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration.
  • Must maintain certification and registration through entire length of employment.
