8am - 5pm / Full Time/ 40 Hours

 

We are seeking a capable Licensed Practical Nurse/ LPN who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population.

 

  • The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients and families in routine nursing situations within the LPN scope of practice.
  • Under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed provider, the LPN assists in patient care, treatment, and comfort.
  • This role is an integral part of the healthcare team, ensuring quality care in alignment with Emory Healthcare's patient and family-centered care standards.
  • Patient Care & Clinical Duties: Provide patient care based on an individualized plan delegated by the Registered Nurse/Physician.
  • Monitor and document patient conditions, including vital signs, wound care, drains, and lab values.
  • Assist with medical procedures, treatments, and medication administration as per scope of practice.
  • Collect and document patient data using specialized equipment as needed (e.g., glucometer, pulse oximeter).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment following safety and infection control protocols.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Establish and maintain communication with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
  • Inform the supervising Registered Nurse/Physician about patient activities, observations, and changes in condition.
  • Provide patient and family education related to health conditions, treatment plans, and home care.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of patient medical records.
  • Adhere to universal precautions and patient safety standards in all interactions.
  • Follow Emory Healthcare's policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Quality Improvement & Professional Development
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices in patient care.
  • Conduct or assist with in-service training and continuous learning opportunities.
  • May serve on sectional, departmental, or organizational committees as needed. 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
  • Experience: Previous experience preferred but not required.
  • Licensure: A valid, unencumbered license as a Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia.
  • Skills: Strong patient care, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Certifications: BLS
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience: Previous nursing experience preferred but not required.
