Description

The Pharmacy Technician II, Outpatient Pharmacy Services/Transitions of Care/Meds to Beds (Float) position is a full-time Monday - Friday position supporting our four outpatient pharmacies at Emory Healthcare: The Pharmacy at Emory, The Pharmacy at Emory Midtown, The Pharmacy at Winship Emory Midtown, and Emory Specialty Pharmacy. Start times range from 8:30AM to 9:30AM with a 8.5 hour day with a 30-minute lunch midday. Must be available to work until 6pm.

  

Shift Time: 9:30am-6pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (Week 1) and 9:30am-6pm Tuesday and Thursday (Week 2). The weeks will alternate.

 

This technician is responsible for gathering prescription insurance coverage information, performing prescription order entry and fulfillment, performing basic metric conversions and calculations, providing excellent customer service to patients, caregivers, and Emory Healthcare staff, assist with medication access barriers, collaborate with nursing, social work, providers, other pharmacies/pharmacists, assist with training and oversight, solution oriented, must exhibit good communication skills and strong attention to detail, and other duties as assigned. 


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Successful completion of an ASHP accredited technician training program or enrollment in a professional-related school preferred.
  • 6 months experience as Pharmacy Technician or completion of ASHP-accredited tech training program preferred.
  • Current CPhT certification through either PTCB or NHA and active Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration, or current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy with a current Georgia Pharmacy Intern license.
  • Must maintain certification and registration through entire length of employment.
