Description

8:30a – 5:00p / Full Time / 40 Hours 

The Associate Chief Health Informatics Officer, Pharmacy is responsible for managing, improving, and developing medication-related information systems. This role involves using technology and data to optimize the use of medications, improve patient safety, and increase the efficiency of pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the development and implementation of clinical and pharmacy informatics initiatives and develop and maintain policies and procedures for the use of pharmacy information systems.
  • Oversee the integration of pharmacy information systems with other healthcare systems to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to design and implement clinical decision support tools that enhance medication safety and efficacy.
  • Train and support pharmacy staff in the use of informatics tools and technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations related to pharmacy informatics.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent and licensed in state of Georgia (or must be licensed within 6 months of hire).
  • Completion of an advanced pharmacy residency and a minimum of 5 years pharmacy practice which includes at least two years of medication technology/informatics experience (or equivalent).
  • Equivalent experience includes at least five years of medication technology supervisory/management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy practice, medication management, and healthcare information systems.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively with others, and work independently with minimal supervision.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • PGY2 Pharmacy residency in informatics.
  • Training or experience in clinical informatics, analytics, data information & knowledge management, human factors engineering, quality improvement, financial analysis and safety.
