Description

7a-4p / Full Time / 40 Hours

 

The Radiation Oncology Imaging Specialist performs radiotherapy imaging tasks and assistant physicians, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and imaging technologists. Reporting to the Chief Dosimetrist, the incumbent primarily performs highly complex radiologic tasks requiring detailed knowledge and skill in CT and MRI anatomy and physiology and advanced understanding of radiation therapy concepts. Will manage active clinical databases, including archiving, and restoring patients from backup systems. Utilize hospital informatics systems to retrieve imaging and demographic data and import outside hospital imaging studies into in-house software systems and databases. And assist the patient care coordinators to request previous radiation records and DICOM datasets from outside hospitals.

 

This position is also responsible for fusing distinct imaging studies in the treatment planning system and Velocity according to the directives of the physicians and delineating radiographic organs at risks contours according to the physician directives, with commercial contouring and treatment planning software.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An Associate degree and licensure in any of the following Radiologic Technology modalities: CT, MRI or Radiation Therapy.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in any of the mentioned Radiologic Technology modalities.
