Description

  • Supervises day to day operations of mammography services. Works closely with the Manager of the Breast Imaging Center.
  • Assists radiologists in performing invasive and non-invasive mammographic and sonographic procedures.
  • Works in a relatively independent manner. Assures optimal level of patient care at all time.
  • Performs all the functions of a Mammography Technologist II.
  • Assists in administrative activities such as budget planning, identifying means of cost containment, coordinating staffing schedules and ensuring communication regarding areas of concern.
  • Facilitates patient / family education efforts by assessing the need for intervention, providing staffing coverage, and supporting and reinforcing clinical instruction.
  • Maintains records for service and compliance with internal and external regulatory guidelines. Actively participates in preparation of regulatory agency reviews such as ACR reaccredidation, yearly updates and FDA on-site inspections.
  • Assists in interviewing process, makes recommendations for adequate staffing. Assures the availability of equipment and supplies for all procedures; orders supplies as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and registered with the ARRT.
  • Must have a minimum of four (4) years experience in diagnostic and invasive mammography.
  • A minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience or one (1) year as a Level 3 Mammography technologist is required.
