Description

Emory University Hospital Midtown is seeking a Night Pharmacist in Emergency Medicine/Critical Care to join our team.

Shift Time: 7 on 7 off schedule. Weekdays: 10:00pm – 8:00a. Weekends: 7:00pm – 7:30am

 

  • Coverage responsibility split between emergency department and intensive care units.
  • Serves as clinical lead pharmacist on night shift.
  • Monitors drug therapy regimens and performs daily in-depth patient profile review to assess, monitor and recommend appropriate drug therapy as applicable.
  • Consistently evaluates, intervenes, and documents adverse drug reactions, medication variances and clinical interventions beyond institutional protocols.
  • Prevents and/or resolves drug-related problems to ensure safety, efficacy, and cost-efficiency by consulting with the ordering prescriber and appropriately documents.
  • Answers drug information questions with in-depth knowledge of research designs, methodologies, and biostatistics.
  • Oversees the work performed by pharmacy students, technicians, and pharmacists to ensure performance standards are maintained and work is in accordance with state, federal and organizational regulations. 


Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
    ASHP- Accredited Post Graduate Year 1 and 2 Residency or Fellowship or equivalent experience in the specialty area preferred.
  • Relevant Pharmacy Specialty Board certification is preferred.
  • Active Georgia Pharmacist license or eligibility for licensure with attempt to register for 60 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support is required within 1 year for all positions with Code Blue coverage responsibility.

 

Night Pharmacist Salary:

 

  • $61.11-101.82/hour
  • The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications of relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity.
  • This position is eligible for shift differentials.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
