Description

The Certified Athletic Trainer Manager will provide oversight and leadership for Certified Athletic Trainers, Nurses, Medical Assistants and/or other Clinical staff.

  • This position has both administrative and clinical job responsibilities: the responsibilities of Lead ATC will still be in place for the ATC Manager home location, which includes: supervising a group of Certified Athletic Trainers (ATCs) in outpatient clinics, ASC settings, and inpatient OR settings; Lead staff to ensure efficient clinical operations and positive patient experiences.
  • Responsible for performance management, including performance feedback and reviews, disciplinary action, recognition and participates in goal setting.
  • Coordinate coverage for staff PTO, callouts, etc. in the clinic, surgery center and hospital settings.
  • Coordinate trainings, creates orientation schedules and monitors competency training of new hires.
  • Optimize the ATC role to the top of scope of practice.
  • Identify successful models of team based collaboration for specialty.
  • This position will work in collaboration with the Director of Patient Care Practice in crafting a strategic plan for the ATC cohort and work with Physicians and administrative teams to determine ATC practice needs/growth planning in areas.
  • Promote ATC employment engagement and retention, with identification of opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee the hire, interviewing and onboarding of new ATCs in collaboration with site specific lead ATC and site manager.
  • Develop guidelines for departmental ATC Individual Goals and help ATCs set Individual goals for the year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree in a health related field preferred;
  • Four (4) years of experience as an ATC.
  • One (1) year of experience Supervising, Precepting and/or Leading clinical staff preferred.
  • Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), GA State licensure.
  • CPR/AED certification required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium Max 25lbs): up to 25 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 25 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
