Description

  • Provides quality care to patients receiving diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures.
  • Operates interventional radiologic and specialty equipment including ultrasound units and endoscopy units to produce high quality radiographs (x-rays) for diagnostic and invasive procedures in the interventional suite and operating room.
  • Communicates patient's needs and response through appropriate verbal and written communications.
  • Negotiates win-win solutions to situations as appropriate.
  • Ensures documentation is complete and accurate regarding all aspects of patient care.
  • Responsible for proper operation of imaging and specialty equipment as well as keeps abreast of uses of medical devices.
  • Regularly assumes responsibility and provides direct care for the more complex patients.
  • Provides assistance to colleagues in recognizing, interpreting, and managing unstable patient care situations.
  • Provides quality care to patient during procedures; prepares patients for procedure with proper sterile technique.
  • Takes precautions to minimize patient and staff exposure to radiation.
  • Assists with patient and family education. Functions independently, can coordinates in Clinical Specialist's absence.
  • Precepts one health care provider/year when applicable for new staff and students.
  • May support or assist in research and related activities.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • Current ARRT licensure. also must have a minimum of three (3) years experience with two (2) years in IR.
  • Advanced certification in VI is required. BLS certification required.
